Radiosonde X2142804 recovered by Rosy's Kitchen
The sonde was found 239 metres from the last radio position. The field was hard packed drifted snow. The wind pushed the balloon into the tree line and then the sonde was covered in drifted snow because of the snow storm. I ran into the string and followed that to the sonde. an idiot (me) went sonde hunting in the forest and forgot to take the extension pole! but to my amazement, all 3 sondes strings were in reach. 2 sondes were on the ground. the other was 20 feet in the air. pulled on the string and it came through the branches!
