Property owner showed me a trail into the trees where the sonde fell. Came along for a walk a hundred feet in or so, and had a nice chat. Sonde was on the ground but different to spot among the fallen trees. No parachute and no balloon to be seen, string ran up to the connecting piece which was stuck high in the trees.
