sonde partiallly embedded in snow with the balloon neck snarled in the treetop downwind. Lovely sunny, mild day for an x-c ski on the park trail to near the sonde but heavy slugging once off trail as I was sinking down about a foot despite the skis. String broke when attempting to dislodge the balloon but retrieved about 1/2 the string.
