Saw the radar reflector high up in a tree, glinting in the sunlight. Was resigned to having to leave empty handed when I noticed the cord running over the crown of one tree, and into an adjoining tree. As I got closer I followed the cord out of the second tree down to the ground, and there it was, waiting for me in the grass.
Was able to recover the whole assembly and get it out of the farmer’s paddock.
Radiosonde was still transmitting 12hr after launch.
